Kit AstroMedia for building the "Slide Rule".
Kit AstroMedia for building the "Slide Rule".
This cardboard kit is fully functional and oldschool in the truest sense of the word.
More than 40 years ago, this ingeniously simple calculator without electricity and light display was part of the standard equipment in school - today, the slide rule is not only a sought-after collector's item, but still an exciting teaching tool to make mathematics illustrative.
It is very easy to use: you only have to set the "1" of the tongue of the movable middle element to the desired number and you can read off any multiplication from the line of the movable slide. Divisions are just as easy. The little wonder even knows how to handle square and cubic numbers as well as roots.
The AstroMedia slide rule is the world's first new development since the beginning of mass production of electronic calculators.
