Kit AstroMedia for building the "Solar Telescope".
Kit AstroMedia for building the "Solar Telescope".
Pre-cut cardboard kit for a 6.5x magnifying Galilean telescope to safely observe the sun.
The sun in focus
In 1609, when Galileo Galilei presented the world his further development of the telescope he had invented a year earlier, stargazing as we know it today was born. His discoveries were a scientific sensation, but they initially concentrated on lunar craters, crescent phases of Venus and moons around Jupiter. The Sun came into focus a little later, often with fatal consequences for its observers who did not protect their eyes.
Protection for the eyes
With the Solar Telescope, AstroMedia offers an excellent telescope based on the Galilean principle. Thanks to the 6.5x magnification AND the CE-approved solar filter, a safe view directly onto the sun is possible.
Advice
With a few utensils, such as an open cardboard box, a white sheet and a little bit of skill, you can also build a solar projector and observe the sun together with others. The building instructions tell you exactly how it works.
WARNING: Never look at the sun without protection!
